GETTING OUT GRACEFULLY
How many of us are busy with the day to day routine of running a practice, managing staff, managing patients, family dynamics etc.?
How much time do you spend during your busy day thinking about when you are no longer practicing? Thinking about what that will look like, will you sell your practice, will your kids take it over, will your partner be taking the reins, or will you drop dead in the saddle?
If your life is as hectic as most seem to be today, probably those thoughts are fleeting as are the action steps necessary to plan for and implement a smooth exit strategy. If you are one of those “got it all together” “all your I’s dotted and T’s crossed kind of people, congratulations!! FYI we are jealous!
It is never to early to think about an exit strategy, and it’s also not to late. At HRS we have been blessed over the years to meet some really terrific people. The point is we all need to spend some time looking at what life after practice looks like. Start by making a simple list
- What do I enjoy doing?
- If I could plan the perfect day what would it look like?
- What would it take to make that happen?
- How much longer do I want to work?
- What will I do with the practice?
