LESSONS LEARNED…

As most of the Country moves into “Phase 2” of the “Grand Re-opening” we need to naturally look forward to where we go from here. It is also important to look back at how we got here in the first place, and what we could have done differently that might have mitigated some of the damage done. As the saying goes History always repeats itself. Coming out of this current situation this is NOT good news. Regardless of where you stand on what really happened with this virus, it’s cause, origin, it’s level of deadliness comparatively speaking. One thing we know for sure is that it has without a doubt changed our Country! Yet interestingly enough, many of the people we talk to, and hear about are now better off than they were when they were working. This I think we can all agree is a dangerous situation and gives no one any real incentive to return to work. Many of our suppliers are struggling to find employees that want to return to work to fill orders so that we can restock shelves! And get back to the business of being in business!

I guess the $64,000. Question is: how you feel about where you are today in comparison to 2 months ago. Have you trimmed your overhead, dropped back to more basic services “cut some of the bells and whistles?” Have you added some new tools, or stayed pretty much the same? Do you have a plan in mind moving forward? Would you survive a repeat of “recent history” if you continue doing what your doing now, or is it time to take off the rose colored glasses and look at your practice with an eye to eliminating waste, increasing efficiency, and offering services that can withstand the winds of change.

Wherever you’re at right now this might be a good time to take a look back at the last few months and see what lessons can be learned from it that will benefit you moving forward, to better prepare you for when “History Repeats itself” and you can bet it will!
